Feast of the Winter Solstice
This is the Fremont Arts Council event that is most special to our members and our community.
The ancient energy of the Winter Solstice is something people have celebrated for centuries, and we take up our place in carrying forth this experience.
We gather at this time, the same night each year regardless of when it falls, to celebrate the earth, it’s bounty, our own place in time, and community, to share a meal, to talk, sing, and dance en route to our ancient souls. We go there with much joy, exultation and appreciation.
This is a potluck feast, everyone is expected to participate in this feast. Bring something yummy to share, dress beautifully, and be ready to celebrate!
Interested in attending the Feast of the Winter Solstice?
We have changed things up a bit this year.
We will NOT be taking money at the door, all tickets are pre-sale and can be obtained through Brown Paper Tickets: http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/215368
Interest in volunteering at the Fremont Arts Council’s Feast of the Winter Solstice.
Follow the link below to sign up for a volunteer position: http://myfremont.org/Default.aspx?pageId=1192312
Volunteers who take on positions that work a minimum of 4 hours will earn an invitation which will admit them into the feast (one invitation per person.)
This year we are forming crews of volunteers so each crew has a ‘crew lead’, there is accountability, all of our jobs get accomplished, and we can all enjoy a wonderful Feast experience.
Please note that art activities (headdress making / lanterns & candle making) do not count as volunteer hours.
All ages are welcome. Kids do not need to purchase tickets if they are not driving themselves (under 16.)
We look forward to celebrating Winter Solstice with you!
