2017 Feast of the Winter Solstice – Public Art Workshops!

Happy Winter Solstice Everyone!

The Powerhouse will be open in the coming weeks for a series of workshops beginning Saturday Dec. 2 to create adornments and décor for the Feast of the Winter Solstice.  All are welcome to drop by the Powerhouse to help create! If you can, bring goo gaws, sparkly stuff & snack to share!

Headdress Workshops:

Our Headdress making workshops are kicking off December 2nd, and we hope you’ll join in the fun. We’ll be teaching you how to make fabulous headdresses.  We start with the headdress blanks; that is fabric sleeves that go over the foam that we tie in a circle – we decorating these with lovely goo gaws to adorn our heads. Come down and say hello! Make one for yourself, and help make more to give away as gifts at the feast on December 21st. It’s going to be easy, fun, and an opportunity to connect with friends old and new.

These “Make some, Take One” workshops are free if you are able to make several headdresses for our Winter Solstice Feast, and then you’re also free to make one to take home.  If you only have time to make a headdress for yourself, we request a $10 donation to cover materials.
