interurban

Waiting for the Interurban is a favorite Seattle sculpture that captures the era of streetcars in Fremont. A cast aluminum sculpture by local artist Richard Beyer, the Interurban fondly receives regular attention in the form of "art attacks".   The six commuters depicted, and their dog, receive new clothing, funny hats and other props every few days that nearly bring them to life.   The Interurban is usually located next to the Fremont Bridge.

If you choose to help keep those Waiting for the Interurban in step with events and festivals, please make sure to clean up after yourself (and others) and refrain from using tape or anything else that might leave a lasting mark.
