May Day is Cancelled due to COVID-19 and other updates

We hope this post finds you well. We hope that you are maintaining healthy physical social distancing and mental, emotional, and spiritual self-care. All of these things are necessary for us to make it through this very strange time of isolation.

The Board is still working behind the scenes to make sure that we are informed of the city and county’s orders as well as any resources that are available to us. We are working to apply for grants that are available to nonprofits. We are working hard to determine the right path for the FAC in these uncertain days.

What we do know about upcoming events:

  • The Powerhouse remains closed until further notice.
  • COW Meeting – April 14 – CANCELLED.
  • May Day – May 1 – CANCELLED. With the statewide Stay at Home order extended to May 4, May Day has been cancelled.
  • Fremont Solstice Parade and Celebration – June 20 – TBD. We are waiting to see what the data is and what the city/county/state decides about mass gatherings. We feel like we will know more by the end of April and will make a decision then. Until then, we are working on how to fund the Parade; Parade and Celebration preparations; and contingency plans if we are not able to have the Parade on June 20th.
