Public Art Workshops at the Powerhouse

Powerhouse Art Studio
3940 Fremont Ave N

Stop by the Powerhouse! The Powerhouse Art Studio is a Free, public studio space where we share art techniques and you can take part in building celebration art. Get your hands dirty…glittery…sticky…painty…whatever it takes.

  • Everyone is welcome!
  • FREE to the public – snacks provided – donations accepted for the Fremont Arts Council

Coming up:

2019 Petit Troll  – Public Art Workshops!

Petit Troll floats are small toy rolling vehicles made into shimmering, themed floats using recycled materials and glue guns.

Come to one workshop or many:

  • Saturday February 23: Noon-4pm
  • Sunday February 24:  Noon-4 pm
  • Saturday March 2: Noon-4 pm

+ We’ll have goo gahs, toys and treasures to add to your float.

+ You can also make a Mardi Gras mask or look through the costumes for a festive parading outfit.

  • Floats should be smaller(ish) than a case of wine (as in a dozen bottles, not a box of box wine).
  • No printed words or logos.
  • No live animals (except guide animals).
  • No motorized/remote controlled floats.
  • No weapons or fire.

+ A base to build on. Wheels can be added to a cardboard box or you can use something that is already wheeled. Note: Wider is better when it comes to bases – we’ve used some rather small toys as bases in past years but they tend to tip over when pulled through the streets.

+ Objects to create your scene.

+ An umbrella to decorate.

+ Extra toys and fancy bits to share with others.

+ Snacks to share

You Power the House! Thank you!
