Fremont Arts Council Presents
String & Shadow in Night at the Grand Opera
Saturday, August 22nd, 2026 | 7PM | Magnuson Park Amphitheater
The Fremont Arts Council is thrilled to welcome Olympia's acclaimed String & Shadow Puppet Theater to Seattle for a special one-night-only performance of Night at the Grand Opera as part of their 2026 Northwest tour.
Step inside a grand old European opera house during the golden age of opera, where towering cardboard sets transform before your eyes to reveal stories both on and off the stage. Love triangles, revolutionary plots, art-loving flies, and mischievous vermin collide in a lively, candlelit spectacle filled with humor, music, and imagination.
Known for creating breathtaking performances from cardboard, fabric, and papier-mâché, String & Shadow Puppet Theater combines giant puppetry, live music, dance, and circus arts to create original theatrical experiences unlike anything you've seen before.
String & Shadow Puppet Theater is an Olympia-based company renowned for its imaginative giant puppets, original music, and larger-than-life performances crafted from cardboard, fabric, and papier-mâché. Their family-friendly productions celebrate creativity, community, and the belief that live theater should be accessible to everyone.
