Fremont Solstice Parade

Saturday June 17, 2023 at 2 PM

We're back for 2023! Celebrate with us on the longest day of the year with the Fremont Arts Council’s most spectacular event. Where everyone can be an artist.

The 33nd Fremont Solstice Parade, produced by the Fremont Arts Council, blasts off on Saturday June 17! Come be dazzled as community-based, people-powered ensembles parade down the streets of Fremont with giant puppets, stilt walkers, floats, dancers, cyclists, and musicians in this kaleidoscope of joyous human expression.

This year’s route is shown below. The route ends at our block party which will feature a beer garden, bands, and more, on the block of Woodland Park Ave N between 34th and 35th Streets. The block party runs from noon - 9 PM!

What makes the Fremont Solstice Parade unique?

EVERYONE CAN BE AN ARTIST. Full participation is completely open to the public.

PEOPLE POWERED. No motorized vehicles are allowed, except electric wheelchairs.

No animals, except service animals.

NO PRINTED WORDS OR LOGOS. It’s all about the art. Participants relish the challenge of proclaiming their message through creative expression. Don’t wait until the parade to get involved.

FAQ

  • You can participate in three ways:

    (1) Be in an ensemble! If you have an idea you want to show off, register and we’ll find you a spot. If you don’t have an idea, but want to dance, dress up, or help with a float, Email us and we’ll find you a spot! If you want to be a painted cyclist, learn how to do that here!

    (2) Be a volunteer! If you want to help us make the day happen in style, we need parade monitors and ushers. Email parade@fremontartscouncil.org to learn more or sign up.

    (3) Come to our workshops! Stop by anytime that we’re open (calendar is here) and say hi! We’re happy to chat and find out where you can fit in!
